Section 17.26.020 Permitted uses and uses permitted by special use permit only.
Prior to the adoption of 17.26.020 (Ord. 2129) on 01/20/2003, Section 17.26.020 read as follows.
Except as herein or in other codes and ordinances of the
city is made and provided, no building
or land shall be used, and no building shall be erected, structurally altered, or enlarged except for
the following uses that are declared to be permitted in a C-1 neighborhood business district:
1. Ancillary entertainment, being
those uses where the entertainment function typically
consists of programmed background listening music, at eating, drinking or other establishments;
2. Art and school supply stores;
3. Book or stationery stores;
4. Camera and photographic supply
stores;
5. Coin (i.e., numismatic) and stamp
(i.e., philatelic) stores;
6. Dwelling units, when located above
the ground floor, if business uses or premises
designed for such uses occupy the ground floor;
7. Day care or day nursery;
8. Florist shops;
9. Gift shops;
10. Haberdasheries;
11. Hair care centers; including barber
and beauty shops, manicuring and facials; excludes
such uses as tanning salons and/or massages;
12. Hobby shops;
13. Leather goods and luggage stores;
14. Locksmith shops;
15. Meat markets;
16. Municipal buildings, whether performing
governmental or proprietary functions, or a
combination of the same;
17. Notion shops, and clothing alterations;
18. Offices, business and professional;
19. Permanent meeting places of veterans,
business, civic, fraternal, labor and similar
organizations two thousand (2000) square feet maximum building size;
20. Public service facilities, including
electric distributing substations, fire or police stations,
telephone exchange and similar uses;
21. Restaurants, tea rooms and cafes;
(i) not of the drive-in type (where food is served to
customers in a motor vehicle for consumption on the business premises of the establishment); (ii)
not of the drive-thru type (where food is served to customers in a motor vehicle for consumption
off the business premises of the establishment); and (iii) not of the food delivery type (where
food is prepared on the premises of the business establishment and delivered to customers off of
the premises of the business establishment by the business establishment). The maximum
building size shall be four thousand (4000) square feet;
22. Shoe and hat repair stores;
23. Tailor shops;
